Der Song Strange Fruit, der ursprünglich ein Gedicht war, ist gegenwärtig Gegenstand des Englisch-Unterrichts.

Heute wird vor allem Billie Holiday mit Strange Fruit verbunden. An ihrer Performance sei vor allem das Gefühl von tragender Bedeutung:
